Future ORD Map!

The future of O'Hare lies in what is shown on the image above. There will be 8 runways (currently 7) plus a new West Terminal and a Western access road. This plan would prepare ORD for the years to come and the increase in traffic. The West Terminal would be used by all US domestic carriers which don't have hubs at ORD. This would include everyone except American and United Airlines. There would be 6 parallel runways which would enable O'Hare to use them all at the same time with less delays. These parallel runways would also be a plus because they would decrease traffic and taxing time. However not everyone is happy with the plan, especially citizens of Bensenville and Mount Prospect which would have to endure the noise. However this plan is likely to succeed because O'Hare is a economic powerhouse and boosts the whole economy of Chicago. A airport in a diffrent location would not be profitable for Chicago nearly as much.
